I don’t normally believe in chiropractic. I took it on faith because of a referral for Dr Brett. After meeting Dr Brett and getting to know him, I realize that he has so much knowledge when it comes to the body. He doesn’t just crack you and send you on your way, he adjust you according to what you need as an individual. When you have a person like Dr Brett who can help the average person to a professional body builder like myself, I’m impressed. Thank you for proving my life and getting me one step closer to walking again. God bless.

I came to see Dr. Brett in October 2009, 2 and a-half years after surviving a brainstem AVM Hemorrhage. My motor control, what little I had, made everyday tasks difficult. My balance was terrible and that was obvious as I stumbled through the door loosing my balance every step. My eyes had trouble coordinating tracking movements and I had double vision. I had right side facial paralysis. My speech clarity was affected and many times people couldn’t even understand me. My left arm, leg, and torso were weaker and those joints were not very stable. My left side sensation was also damaged from my injury. Dr. Brett’s comprehensive rehabilitation techniques have helped me immensely. His knowledge of the body and the neuro-muscular system is extensive. Reflex Locomotion in combination with his supported joint manipulation/mobilization and physical rehabilitation exercises have significantly improved my life. RL may seem so passive that nothing is happening but it is hacking into your neuro-muscular pathways. This therapy plus the hours and hours of physical rehabilitation exercises (developmental exercises) have significantly improved my motor control, balance, and body/postural awareness. My gate is more consistent and even, my legs are more coordinated while walking, I can run! (more of a jog, but I can), my left shoulder is more stable, my eyes track better, my facial symmetry is better, my left foot has no eversion anymore. Dr. Brett and the rest of the staff at Universal Chiropractic have given me so much and I could not be more thankful. I strongly recommend their group over there and specifically Dr. Brett and his use of Reflex Locomotion and developmental physical rehabilitation exercises. You have to put the work in and it may not be a one stop fix all, but a fighting chance it will give you.

I have hydrocephalus. Due to that I have stiff joints and I was having difficulty with my balance. I had very bad posture and wasn’t even aware of it. Simple tasks such as walking were becoming difficult and extremely slow. The walk I used to do in 25-30 minutes was taking me over 50 minutes. I was also 70 pounds overweight.
Since starting treatment with Dr. Brett, I have:
- Been shown how to improve my posture
- Relieved the stiffness in my back
- Learned different exercises to improve my balance
These changes were accomplished through practicing all the exercises that Dr. Brett recommended in between appointments and showing up for every appointment. Today, I am doing well enough that I walk my usual walk in 40 minutes and have lost 20 pounds. I know how to maintain good posture – CONSISTENTLY.

“I do not know where to begin! My three children ages 3,7,and 9 and myself were hit by a lady that ran a red light and totaled our jeep! She hit us so hard that we were pushed into Cal-Expo . The kids were very afraid to go see Dr. Ong and especially to be treated! But, I have never seen a Doctor that made a child feel so comfortable in a painful situation as Dr. Ong. My children praised Dr. Ong for his work as well as his great personality. There was and still is a warmness about him and his staff. He sets goals in improving your wellness and works with your body with the adjustments. My three year old daughter said “Dr.Ong is great!” As a mother you are very protective over your children , but there was a sense of peace with Dr. Ong working and treating my family! Overall I would recommend Dr. Nelson Ong for any of your chiropractic needs that you may have!”

“I have been a patient of Dr. Nelson’s for about a year, coming in weekly or biweekly. I have an annoying disc condition which needs regular attention, and he is the only chiropractor I will go to. He is extremely effective, personable, and professional, and the same goes for the whole staff at UCR. I love the receptionists and the massage therapists, and no matter which people are working, I always leave feeling happier and healthier than when I got there. Dr. Nelson consistently identifies and treats my back issues, always making sure that any pain I have is dealt with thoroughly before I leave. He also taught me exercises I could do at home in between visits to stretch, which is another indicator of his commitment to his patients and their long-term well being. I recently moved to Southern California, and I have yet to find a different chiro here because I don’t think I will find such a capable and welcoming practice anywhere else. I used to come into his office feeling like a feeble 90 year old, but I always left feeling lighter and more energized.”

How does a 52 year old woman come back from complete left hip replacement surgery to compete the following year in her beloved sport of team roping and win three saddles? The answer is spirit, determination and Dr. Brett Lemire
September 2001, Dr. Priscilla Monroe suggested that I see Dr. Brett. At that time, I was hobbling around with a sore hip, overweight and depressed with the knowledge that surgery was in the near future. With only tonsil surgery and some stitches previously in my life, the thought of surgery was scary enough, so I made the decision to try to get into the best shape possible prior to surgery. That encompassed proper adjustments and exercise instruction from Dr. Brett.
He made me aware of my body posture and how poor it had become due to pain and my natural body make-up. He introduced me to swimming, something I had done only as a kid and maybe once or twice a year in the summer. What a joy in my life that has become as I swim up to four miles per week. He also stressed that strength training is so very important to be able to participate in the sport that? I love as well as for my overall well-being.
July 10, 2003 I had my hip replacement surgery. After gaining the strength and mobility to get back into the saddle, I purchased a new horse in January of 2004. I had a fairytale year, winning the previously mentioned three saddles and being named “The Most Improved Heeler” voted on by my peers of the WTRA, a women’s team roping association that encompasses the state of California.
How does Dr. Brett play into this picture? He is the piece of the puzzle that gave me the tools to show that my glass is always half-full and not half empty. He gave me the confidence in myself to push to a level that I have never known both physically and mentally. My only regret was not meeting him 10 years previously.
Thank you Dr. Brett and I look forward to many more years of improving my body, mind and spirit through your program.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Anderson

Drs Brett and Nancy Lemire have been such an immense resource to me during the past seven years as a fitness trainer. Both have given me valuable information on muscle activity, imbalances, posture, and flexibility. I have heard them speak on several occasions to groups of people wanting a better understanding of posture and muscle imbalances to cope with back or neck pain. The doctors have related invaluable information and techniques to assist with coping with back problems and improving flexibility.
I have had back and neck pain that was completely diminished or greatly improved after an appointment at their office. On one occasion I had a jaw problem that was too painful to even open my mouth. After Dr. Brett did a jaw release the pain was gone and I was actually able to get a full range of motion. There have been many other times over the years that I have been in back or neck pain with little mobility and had Dr. Brett come to the rescue with his expertise. Dr. Nancy has also been a great help with her tips on flexibility exercises.
Sincerely,

Dr. Nelson Ong’s chiropractic talents have helped to relieve pains that were creating physical limitations in my performance of work responsibilities and recreational activities. Professional and courteous, Dr. Ong is always ready to take the time to explain his procedures and how they are supposed to help. His work has enabled me to participate in activities that I would have avoided due to fear of recurring pain. It is very nice to be able to give my child ‘horsey rides’ without worrying how I’ll feel the next day. I am grateful to have Dr. Ong as my chiropractor.

Dr. Nelson Ong in my professional opinion is one of the best Chiropractors I have met in my time in the holistic health field. Dr. Nelson Ong has worked on my physical ailments concerning my musculoskeletal discomforts and has relieved many aches and pains. I highly recommend that you try Dr. Nelson Ong’s therapeutic treatments because I believe he has the knowledge, education, background, experience and honesty that I have not seen with many practitioners in his field.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Nelson for the past 6 months. Until the point at which I met Dr. Nelson, I had tremendous shoulder pain from an injury that occurred just after high school. I had badly dislocated my shoulder, since then I had severe pain in my shoulder causing many sleepless nights and diminished range of motion. On the date of my first appointment with Dr. Nelson, he informed me that part of my problem was caused by my poor posture. Upon further discussion Dr. Nelson pointed out that a large part of my posture problem was being caused by work. Being a machinist and gunsmith by trade, I spent many hours hunching myself over low machines and work surfaces, thus causing poor alignment of my shoulders and compounding the issue in my shoulder.
After six months of being treated just once every two weeks, I have seen a marked improvement in all aspects of my life. I no longer hunch my body to work on low surfaces, after Dr. Nelson instructed me on proper body mechanics. By the time I arrived home from my first appointment I had a message waiting for me from Dr. Nelson, asking me to call him as soon as possible. When I spoke to Dr. Nelson he told me that upon seeing me drive away from his office, he noticed that I drove my truck with very poor posture, we spent the next half hour discussing proper driving posture and further on the great importance of good posture in general. Thanks to my treatments from Dr. Nelson I’ve slept much better and have minimalized the pain in my shoulder and upper back.

Throughout all of my teen years, I played competitive soccer around the clock. While some would believe being actively involved in a sport is a healthy and wise thing to do, it is not always the case. All sports are great if played in moderation; however, my position as a goal keeper, required a lot of jumping, bending, and diving, and left my back permanently injured. At the ripe young age of only 18, I learned my days of playing any kind of sport were over because this injury left me living with constant lower back pain and burning sensations shooting down my right leg.
After six years of seeing practically every type of back specialist and conservative medicine doctor out there, I finally learned of a way to successfully manage my back pain. I honestly believed I was going to have to live with sciatica for the rest of my life. That was until I became one of Dr. Nelson’s patients. Less than one month of seeing Dr. Nelson regularly, I experienced a significant improvement in my level of pain and flexibility.
Dr. Nelson has so much to offer people who are currently suffering from back pain because he genuinely cares about his patients and makes every effort to accommodate their individual needs. Overall, he is willing to go above and beyond to see his patients find relief.
Dr. Nelson continues to do a phenomenal job at teaching me how to properly take care of myself. Through daily abdominal exercises and stretches, combined with weekly adjustments and deep tissues massages, I am finally regaining back my flexibility and strength. More importantly, I able to move around again like a healthy twenty-four year old because of Dr. Nelson’s hard work and constant enthusiasm towards teaching me new ways to manage my pain. I thoroughly enjoy each visit with Dr. Nelson and his massage therapists, and I will likely be a patient of his for the rest of my life.

I originally injured my back as a teenager but never had any treatment for it until one year it was so bad I ended up in an emergency room and was given medicine that didn’t help much. I found a bunch of people at Elk Grove Online (www.elk-grove.com) who were raving about the doctors at Universal Chiropractic.
I went in and saw Dr. Paterson and walked out after my first visit feeling much better. I’m even swinging my golf clubs again! The staff is great, the Doctors are professional and friendly. Dr. Paterson is a great chiropractor and I highly recommend him.

On May 3rd, 2006 I took a nasty backward fall from a ladder. I tumbled from about 6 feet and landed on my lower back. The pain was unbearable. The X-rays revealed L-2 dislocated vertebrae, severely sprained lower back and compressed disks.
I began 6 weeks of supervised physical therapy. The pain persisted even after the 6 weeks of therapy was finished. I couldn’t bend, I walked like an old man, and couldn’t get comfortable. I was taking heavy doses of Vicodin and Advil to function and to sleep. It was a major challenge to walk 100 feet to the mail box. I felt lucky if I got 4 hours of sleep per night. I was also developing a serious dependency for Vicodin.
At the end of June, I shared my problem with my doctor. He referred me to Universal Chiropractic. My first visit yielded encouraging results: less pain, less pressure. After the third visit there was significant improvement. I stopped the medication during the day. My the 5th or 6th visit most of the pain was gone, I stopped the medication at night. I participated in two Universal Chiropractic workshops where I learned exercises to rebuild and improve my posture, gait, and build my back and ab muscles. I will continue doing the exercises, they make me feel great.
Thanks to Dr. Paterson and the Universal Chiropractic Staff I am now fully recovered and back to doing what I love: golf, travel and hiking. Without their help I would have had permanent physical limitations, now I have none.

This was my first experience with a Chiropractor and it has been extremely positive. Dr. Paterson took the time to listen to my input, provided very valuable explanations as well as information and treatment related not only to my current condition, but more importantly to my ongoing health and mobility.
We worked in partnership to successfully achieve our goals. In addition, the supportive treatment of the therapists on staff, the classes and written information provided all the tools and help I need to continue to manage and care for my musculo-skeletal health. Dr. Paterson and his staff are definitely part of my health resource team for life!
